About this Event

Who am I beyond my roles? Reconnecting with your core self.

A trauma-informed, psychologically safe women’s support group session in Berlin exploring identity, caregiving fatigue, societal expectations, and who you are when you stop performative functioning.

About This Event

Mother. Partner. Daughter. Caregiver. Professional. Expat. Problem solver. Safe harbor for everyone else.

How much of your day is spent filling a role, and how much is spent simply being you?

When we spend years adapting to external expectations, our nervous systems stay locked in chronic over-functioning. We become expert managers, caretakers, and achievers, but beneath the surface, a quiet question begins to echo: "If I stopped doing everything I do for everyone else, who would actually be left?"

Disconnection from the self isn't a personal failure, it is a common survival adaptation to societal conditioning, attachment needs, and emotional labor.

"Who am I beyond my roles?" is an emotionally intelligent, trauma-aware support group session designed to help you pause the performance, untangle your authentic identity from your functional output, and gently meet the person beneath the expectations.

What We Will Explore Together

In this 2-hour grounded and reflective gathering, we will explore:

  • The psychology of role-identification: Understanding how society, family systems, and attachment dynamics condition women to conflate self-worth with usefulness and caregiving.
  • The nervous system & performance: Why dropping your "functional roles" can initially trigger anxiety or guilt, and how to help your body feel safe enough to rest in your core identity.
  • Grief & reclamation: Creating compassionate space to acknowledge the parts of yourself, dreams, or creative impulses that were set aside to make room for survival or expectations.
  • Guided identity mapping: Structured journaling and reflection to separate your genuine core values, desires, and boundaries from inherited obligations.
  • Nervous system regulation: Gentle grounding, somatic practices, and breathwork to help you stay present with yourself rather than default to monitoring others.

Core Principles & Emotional Safety

Your autonomy, privacy, and psychological safety are fundamental to this group:

  • Sharing is always optional. You are welcome to actively participate in discussions or simply listen, journal, and soak in the shared experience without pressure.
  • No unsolicited advice or toxic positivity. We do not offer quick fixes or minimize lived experiences. We honor complexity, ambiguity, and truth.
  • Grounded, predictable pacing. Every session alternates between emotional reflection and nervous system stabilization, ensuring you leave feeling centered and integrated, never dysregulated.

What we will explore together?

This space is welcoming and inclusive for women who are navigating:

  • Burnout, emotional exhaustion, or caregiving fatigue
  • Chronic stress, hypervigilance, or overthinking
  • Attachment wounds, emotional neglect, or relationship difficulties
  • Perfectionism, people-pleasing, and difficulty setting boundaries
  • Stress, cultural displacement, or identity shifts
  • A desire to reconnect with themselves in a safe, quiet environment
