Guided tour looking at women's history in Cardiff, hosted by Sara Huws from Cardiff University's Special Collections and Archives
About this Event

Home to the main University Campus, as well as Government buildings, City Hall and institutions such as National Museum Cardiff, it is an area known for its dazzling white buildings and its association with the ‘great and the good’ of the city’s past – mostly men on plinths with big moustaches.

But look closely, and you’ll see that women’s history is everywhere, woven into the fabric of our public spaces. From activists to scientists, musicians to militant suffragettes – this tour brings together a snapshot of women’s history in Cardiff.

This is a tour lasting around 60 minutes at a leisurely pace, and can easily be made step-free - please let the host know if this is something you'd prefer.

The tour will depart from outside the main entrance, Cardiff University, Main Building, Park Place side. We will briefly venture off the path, so please wear shoes suitable for walking on grass.
