Born into a 700-year-old tradition, Suntou is a Griot: West African oral historians, storytellers, and musicians who preserve the story of a people and culture through song and poetry. Suntou will connect the spirit of The Banjo Boys to his own deep lineage of oral storytelling.
Discover the living history of the Griots, and the rare and unique 22-string kora, an instrument beautifully built from its natural surroundings. Explore a shared continental heritage of musical resourcefulness and oral storytelling, before joining together in an interactive polyrhythm circle. Offering an inspiring insight into how we might build and share our own stories, this workshop explores how music serves as a universal tool for joy, healing, and connection.
