This event is a unique opportunity to recognize and celebrate the profound contributions of Black women in San Antonio, whose legacies have shaped our city, culture, and history.

Throughout this engaging presentation, we will honor the lives and achievements of iconic Black women who have made a lasting impact in fields such as education, business, politics, and social justice. We will journey through the past and present to highlight the unsung heroes of our community and acknowledge their pivotal roles in shaping San Antonio's rich history.

Featured History Makers Include:

  • Artemisa Bowden – President of St. Philip's College, a visionary leader in education
  • Mattie Wilson Laundry – Founder of The Camp Founder Girls, a trailblazer in youth empowerment
  • Ella Austin – Founder of the Ella Austin Orphanage, dedicated to the welfare of children
  • Myra Lillian Davis Hemmings – A founding member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, a leader in activism and community building
  • ...And many more

In a world where history often elevates the achievements of men, we are shining a light on the women whose stories are too often overlooked. This event serves as a powerful reminder of the resilience, innovation, and strength of Black women who have made invaluable contributions to our society and continue to inspire future generations.
