The Mexican American Civil Rights Institute (MACRI) and MonteVideo celebrate Women’s History Month with Latina Spring, a curated selection of inspiring films by Latina and Indigenous women directors! Presented in partnership with UNAM and American Indians of Texas at the Spanish Colonial Missions (AIT SCM), these special screenings spotlight Texas filmmakers Jackie Barragan and Robie Flores, and Mexican filmmakers Ángeles Cruz and Samantha Ramirez.Join us on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at UNAM San Antonio, 600 Hemisfair Plaza Way, for our Salón de Cortos! This collection of award-winning short films features selections from Costa Rica, Mexico, and the United States.
⏰ TIME: Doors open at 6:30 PM; Film begins at 7:00 PM

At age seven, Sam Ramirez fled Mexico with her family in pursuit of the American Dream. On the eve of Día De Los Muertos, she is offered the singular opportunity to return to Mexico after 30 years away.
