Join us for an engaging conversation featuring experienced Ottawa filmmaker Pixie Cram and experimental audiovisual artist Annie Socoria, moderated by Amira Nasser from The Feminist Conversations.
The discussion will explore some of the challenges facing women working in independent media creation in Ottawa and beyond, while sharing practical insights and strategies that artists can take with them into their own creative journeys.
🎥 About Pixie Cram
Pixie is an Ottawa-Gatineau-based independent filmmaker and writer-director working across fiction, stop-motion animation and experimental documentary. Her films have screened at festivals in Canada and internationally, and she teaches screenwriting at Carleton University.
🎞️ About Annie Socoria
Annie is an Ottawa-based experimental audiovisual artist creating atmospheric soundscapes and dynamic abstract video through electronics, synthesizers, feedback, glitch, field recordings and other unconventional techniques.
