About this Event

White As Snow - Ottawa

After performing the show in New York City and across Canada, it felt fitting to come home to wrap up the tour. I am so excited to share this story with family and friends in the city that made me and started it all.
-Rose-Ingrid

After a successful run in New York City this spring, comedian Rose-Ingrid Benjamin is bringing their powerful solo performance across Canada.

4 STARS - " ... a deeply personal yet thoroughly relatable journey of self-discovery... The performance is stunning, and the writing is as sharp as a knife..." The Edmonton Journal

Told from the perspective of a Haitian, Queer, eldest immigrant daughter, former worship leader and missionary, White As Snow tells the story of a young girl wrestling between two Gods. It is a tender reckoning with faith, family, identity, and the ways we come home to ourselves.

Ottawa multi-hyphenate Rose-Ingrid Benjamin's first play blends spoken word, storytelling, and song to weave a "deeply personal solo piece" that explores and challenges what it means to believe, belong, and walk away.

The performance is in English, with French and Kreyòl featured in memories and songs.
