Women in Music - She Plays we Listen

She Plays, We Listen is a curated Women in Music live performance session celebrating female-led sound, stories and creative leadership. Developed as part of the Hidden Beach programme, the session brings together a jazz pianist, a percussionist and a vocalist, followed by a closing DJ set, creating a listening-led journey through different approaches to sound and expression.

The session features individual live performances from each artist, allowing space for focused listening and connection. Live jazz piano, voice and percussion are presented as distinct sets, each offering a different musical language and emotional register. The evening concludes with a DJ set by Kim Cosmik, bringing the strands together through curated selection and shared rhythm.

Rather than a traditional gig or showcase, She Plays, We Listen offers a different way of experiencing live music. Short artist reflections are woven between performances, giving context to the sound and insight into the influences and creative journeys behind each set.

The format is designed for intimate, flexible spaces that support attentive listening, including cultural venues, café environments and gallery-adjacent spaces. The atmosphere is calm, welcoming and non-hierarchical, encouraging respect, presence and shared experience between artists and audiences.
