Leading the evening is Kawson Secka and his powerful 7-piece band, delivering an energetic fusion of Afrobeat, Afro-jazz, traditional Senegambian rhythms and contemporary global grooves. Born in The Gambia and raised in a family of renowned musicians, Kawson's performances are driven by infectious percussion, soaring vocals and the unmistakable sounds of the sabar drums and xalam, creating a live experience that is both deeply rooted in tradition and irresistibly danceable.
Backed by an exceptional live band, the performance celebrates the rich musical heritage of West Africa while embracing modern influences that connect with audiences across generations and cultures. Expect an evening of uplifting rhythms, vibrant melodies and outstanding musicianship from start to finish.
Keeping the dancefloor moving into the early hours, DJ Afrodesi takes over after the live performance with an eclectic selection of Afrobeat, highlife, funk, soul, house and global dance music, ensuring the celebration continues until 2:00am.
