Step into a calm and welcoming space for a full day of tutor-led immersive photography, reflection and creative exploration.

Winter Light invites you to work slowly, attentively and with curiosity as you explore the qualities of winter illumination in both our indoor studio and the surrounding countryside grounds.

About the Day

Winter Light is shaped as a calm and spacious day of creative attention. The group is intentionally small, allowing everyone to settle in, work gently and follow their curiosity without rush. The Still Room Studio offers a quiet, light-filled space to begin, with warm drinks and time to arrive fully before you start exploring.

Across the day your photography tutor, Jeremy Webb, will guide you through demonstrations, reflective prompts and simple practices that help you slow your pace and tune into the qualities of winter light — exploring how it behaves, shifts and reveals detail, from soft diffusion to dramatic contrast, from bounced to reflected.

You will move between the studio and the surrounding grounds, noticing how light changes in different settings. There will be periods of quiet exploration, moments of shared reflection and time to absorb what you discover. The rhythm of the day is unhurried, giving you room to observe more deeply, work intuitively and reconnect with your own way of seeing your photographic practice.

Your Facilitator – Jeremy Webb

Jeremy Webb is a photographer, writer, and educator with over twenty-five years of experience across fine art, commercial, and educational photography.

His images appear internationally, including landscape work represented by established agencies including Millenium Images. Alongside his own photographic practice, Jeremy teaches in schools, community settings, and professional environments, supporting emerging photographers to develop their visual voice and creative confidence. Jeremy is the author of two books on photographic creativity and design.

Tickets

Tickets are £120 per person for the full retreat day, which includes VAT. Numbers are deliberately kept small to maintain a spacious, supportive environment and allow for individual attention.

• A notebook or sketchbook for reflections

• A packed lunch

• Comfortable footwear for walking in the grounds

• A warm outer layer for outdoor exploration

• A cosy indoor layer such as a jumper or shawl

Seasonal warm drinks will be available throughout the day.

This retreat is hosted by The Still Room Studio, a trading division of Sawtooth Studios Ltd (VAT registered). Ticket prices include VAT.

Venue Information

Please enter via the main front door of Keswick Hall. Parking is available in the Main Visitor Car Park to the side of the hall. Please follow the signs on arrival.

Access

The studio is located on the first floor. A lift is available for anyone who prefers or requires step-free access. If you would like assistance on arrival, please let us know.

Age Requirement

This retreat is for adults aged 18 and over.

Mobility and Comfort

The day includes periods of sitting, standing and optional walking outdoors. If you require specific adjustments for comfort, please let us know in advance.

Sensory Considerations

The retreat includes moments of quiet focus and gentle discussion. You are welcome to move quietly when needed and participate in the way that feels most comfortable.

Refunds

Tickets are non-refundable unless the retreat is cancelled by the organiser. If you are unable to attend, we will always do our best to support you, although exchanges cannot be guaranteed.

Photography and Recording

No formal photography of participants will be taken by the organiser without consent. You are welcome to make your own images as part of your practice, with respect for one another’s comfort and consent.

Data Use

Attendee information collected during booking will be used only for administration and communication related to this retreat. It will not be shared outside Sawtooth Studios Ltd.
