About this Event

This year the United States celebrates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on 4th July. Learn about Winchester’s connections to important events in US history.

Join one of Winchester’s professional guides for a 90 minute walking tour, starting at Winchester Visitor Information Centre.

From a Mayflower passenger to a Founding Father to Native American Chieftains; from soldiers training to fight the Colonists to prisoners of war held in the city. Hear some of the stories of the more than 750,000 US troops who passed through Winchester during WWI and WWII. The walk will also cover American authors, actors and dignitaries who have visited Winchester.
