About this Event
📚Lecture: "Will Your Next Doctor Be An Algorithm? AI, Ethics and Future of Medicine"
🎤Speaker: Krishnpriya Singh (Health Policy & AI Researcher)
This lecture explores how artificial intelligence is shaping healthcare today and what that means for patients and doctors. This talk will break down the current role of AI in clinical settings, examine how physicians are responding to these changes, and dive into key ethical questions around patient care, informed consent, and accountability. We will also consider the often-overlooked environmental impact of AI in medicine. Through an interactive thought exercise, the audience will be invited to reflect on who we trust to make decisions about our health.
Krishnpriya Singh is a health policy researcher, bioethicist-in-training, and creative writer working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, healthcare, and lived experience. She recently graduated from the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Health Sciences, and will pursue a Master of Health Informatics at the University of Toronto as a Vector Scholar in AI this fall. Krishnu has conducted national-level research on AI governance, patient-centered evaluation frameworks, and equity in health systems, while also using poetry and storytelling as tools for healing and advocacy. Her work explores how technology, ethics, and vulnerability shape the future of care.
