Hey everyone 👋If you spend time hiking, camping, or exploring around the Grand Valley, this class is for you.
I’m hosting a Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course on May 17th in Grand Junction, focused on what to do when something goes wrong and help isn’t right around the corner.
This is a hybrid course — about 8 hours of online learning (completed ahead of time) + an 8-hour in-person skills day where we’ll practice everything hands-on in realistic scenarios.
You’ll learn how to:
• Assess injuries in the backcountry
• Splint fractures and stabilize injuries
• Manage bleeding, burns, and medical issues
• Recognize and treat hypothermia & heat illness
• Make decisions when evacuation isn’t immediate
I’m a certified Wilderness First Responder and local to the area — I spend a lot of time recreating out here too, so this is all very real-world focused.
