5,000 miles, 11 States, 20 days - NE from Phoenix to the White Mountains, then across the Rocky Mountains of New Mexico, across the Oklahoma Panhandle and up across rural Kansas and Missouri to LansingC Iowa on the Mississippi River.
Then west across the Iowa farmlands and through the Badlands, by Mount Rushmore to Sturgis, then across Wyoming to Utah’s Skyline and back around the Grams Canyon to Phoenix.
