Lacy has a master’s degree in flute performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Her original jazz recording, As the Crow Flies, has been featured on radio stations across the country, and her original rock song, “Alien Water Sky”, was played on Jim Ladd’s 96.5 KLOS radio show, Headsets. In the summer of 2014 she studied opera as a dramatic coloratura at AIMS program in Graz, Austria.
Ms. Lacy currently plays principal flute with the St. Joseph Symphony, plays piccolo with Kansas City’s Kinnor Philharmonic, tours on saxophone with The Phil Collins Experience, and sings and plays penny whistle in her Irish rock band, Dropkick Mollies. She just released her second novel, The Victorian: The Past Lives of Jack the Ripper.
Bantam, brings a pioneering sound to Americana Roots Music. A prolific songwriter and troubadour, Wendy Jane Bantam studied performance at The University of Kansas in Lawrence,Kansas and learned guitar from musician, Chuck Mead of BR549. She's appeared live on England’s BBC Radio and signed with Tremulant Records. Her music is a fine and phenomenal juxtaposition of good old fashioned love songs and dark ballads of the prairie.
There is no better way to kick off the Centennial Celebration Series for City Hall and The Missouri Theater than this wonderful evening of music! Family friendly, everyone is welcome.
