This year is a major milestone in the history of Wellington Repertory Theatre as it will be 100 years since the establishment of the society and the inaugural production of George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion.
To acknowledge this auspicious occasion, we have a commemorative day planned for Saturday August 29th which we would like to invite you to. The venue will be The Gryphon Theatre, 22 Ghuznee Street, Wellington.
The itinerary for the day is as follows:

12 noon – 4 pm: Exhibition of photos and memorabilia. (free entry)
4.00 pm – 4.30 pm: Theatre closed.
4.30 pm – 5 pm: Doors reopens for ticket holders as the official celebration begins.
5 pm – 5.30 pm: Welcome speech, Commemoration, Cutting of the cake
5.30 – 6.30 pm: Canapes and drinks.
6.30 – 7.30 pm: “Through the Decades” (stage performance)
7.30 – 8.30 pm: Informal socialising.
8.30 pm: Official end of the events.

Anyone may visit the Gryphon before 4 pm, but if you want to attend the festivities, you will need to buy a ticket.
A Centenary Celebration ticket costs $35, and gives you access to:
- The Exhibition
- The Cake Cutting and commemoration
- Light Supper
- A free drink (plus cash bar)
- The Performance
