This full day workshop deep dives into the fundamentals of producing, marketing and touring theatre and comedy in Aotearoa New Zealand. Led by two of the country’s leading independent producers, we’ll take you through a series of practical tips and resources to help you make more professional work, and less stressful production processes.
Whether you have a fresh idea for next year's fringe circuit, or an existing show planning its next steps- we'll cover everything you need to know with plenty of time for tailored feedback and advice.
The Workshop will cover:
- Key producing decisions and creating the right timelines and production plans for your work.
- Assembling the right team, contracting and looking after your people.
- How to manage budgets and expenses without losing your mind.
- An overview of the funding and partnerships landscape in Aotearoa, and how to get the most out of your time spent in this area.
- Identifying your target demographic and the best ways to get in front of them.
- A general guide to marketing and publicity in 2026.
- Touring in New Zealand and beyond.
The workshop can be attended in-person or online. Online attendees will be sent a link in advance of the workshop day (keep an eye on your spam folder, just in case).
Pricing is Pay What You Can from $50, but we reckon it's worth may more than that. Paying what you can afford, helps to make it more affordable for those for whom it's a stretch. If money is a barrier, we're open to service exchange and other koha options so feel free to get in touch.
