What does 'home' really feel like...?
Come explore this question on a snowy day (hot chocolate provided!), learn to weave burlap with textiles experts, and find a material home for your nostalgia!
Event Description
"Weaving Stories of Home" is a one-day workshop exploring how our nostalgia for home can be generative. In other words, can we unweave our memories and reweave new ones into it? What happens when we travel back in time using textiles?
The workshop is led by:
- Pramila Choudhary -- textiles expert; weaving, wool, etc.
- Sabina Rak -- art educator and arts community manager
- Richy Srirachanikorn -- nostalgia researcher
Duration, Sessions, and Location
Our workshop is one hour long. There are TWO SESSIONS to choose from:
- 11:00am - 12:00pm
- 2:30pm - 3:30pm
The location of the workshop is the EV Building, Concordia University, 11th floor (Room 11.705). Please use the elevators from the McKay street entrance and come up to the Milieux Institute.
