About the Panelists
Julia Hsiao is the CEO/Founder of Julia Hsiao Insurance & Financial Services which was founded in 1997 to help individuals and businesses achieve their financial goals by providing insurance and financial products. She has extensive knowledge in the areas of estate conservation and wealth accumulation and specializes in providing high net worth clients with customized financial strategies. Julia is a member agent of the Nautilus Group Plus that specializes in financial and estate planning, and a Financial Advisor for Eagle Strategies, LLC. She has been recognized as one of the top insurance professionals in the country, being named to Forbes America’s Top 100 Financial Security Professionals for 2021-2024. Julia has a LL.B degree from National Taiwan University, a J.D. Degree from Lincoln Law School, and LL.M. degree from Golden Gate University. She has been actively involved in local communities and charitable contributions for the past 30 years.
Qianli Yang is the owner of Law Offices of QianliYang. Her academic journey began in Mainland China where she earned her LL.B from the Renmin University of China and subsequently attained a dual degree in Economics from Peking University. In 2013, Qianli further her legal education at UC Berkeley School of Law. As a California State Bar Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate law, Qianli’s practice encompasses a comprehensive range of services, including estate and tax planning, trust administration, probate, and the preparation of estate and gift tax returns. Qianli is among the few Mandarin-speaking Certified Specialists in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate in California, making her a valuable asset for clients seeking expert guidance in both English and Mandarin.
Jie Zhu is a CPA and International Tax Partner with PP&Co. She has been with the firm for 25 years and is the chair of PP&Co’s International Tax Department and is also a member of AICPA, CalCPA, and Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Jie is an Advisory Board member of the Women Leadership Program at University of San Francisco School of Management, as well as a business mentor for various international incubator programs, and an Executive Committee Member of ProVisors Silicon Valley Women Affinity Group. She was awarded as one of the Women of Influence of 2019 by Silicon Valley Business Journal and named as a Top 50 Women Leaders of San Jose for 2025 by Women We Admire.
Jennifer Gilbert litigates complex intellectual property disputes, including patent infringement, trademark, and trade secret cases; technology-related contract disputes; and complex commercial matters. The Chinese American Lawyers of the Bay Area (CALOBA) is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit mutual benefit corporation established in 2003 by a group of U.S.-trained and California-licensed Chinese American attorneys in the San Francisco Bay Area.
