Water Safari
Grab your rubber boots and get ready to make a splash at Water Safari, an outdoor adventure within Pittock Conservation Area where we will use nets to discover the wonders of a tiny but amazing world hiding underwater. We'll look for crayfish, dragonfly nymphs, predaceous diving beetles, and more! Dip nets will be provided by UTRCA staff, who will be on hand to answer questions and provide support. Any captured critters will be placed in viewing trays until the end of the program when we will have a show and tell of our discoveries, then release everyone back to their aquatic home.
Water Safari is a family-friendly event for those who love amphibians, fish, or just playing in the water, although all children must be accompanied by an adult. Please come prepared to walk in shallow water. The program may involve walking off trail on uneven terrain with slippery slopes and covering a distance of up to 1 km. Rubber boots are encouraged! If you have any questions about the trip, please contact Rachael Jensen in advance by emailing [email protected] in advance. We look forward to exploring water creatures with you!
