‘Water-Bodies: A celebration’ brings together people of all ages to celebrate water.Water is life. Water nourishes, revives, cleanses, heals and supports life on Earth.
This celebratory event will be in honour of our innate connection with water, making creations and offering these to the sea.
A combination of exhibition, participatory workshop and water celebration on the beach.
Join us for all or any of the afternoon/evening activities.
From 3pm: Public Exhibition of Water-Body Stories at La Cuna
Earlier this year, a group of 7 came together in a series of 3 workshops to creatively explore their relationship with water through “Stories from the Water-Body”. This exhibition is a sharing of the process and experience of those workshops.
4-5.30pm Workshop at La Cuna (drop-in)
A public participatory workshop to make small objects as an offering and celebration of water from foraged and biodegradable materials.
Some natural materials will be provided.

If you’d prefer to create your own object at home and just come along to join the twilight celebration, you’re very welcome to do so. If so, please arrive at Cleethorpes Beach (at the Brighton Street Slipway) for 5:45pm.
6pm-7pm Twilight Celebration on the Beach. (Meet at Brighton Street Slipway)
This will be a simple, loosely-facilitated community celebration incorporating space for you to offer your object to the sea. The celebration will be in honour of the connection between our bodies and the sea/water. Sunset is at 7pm.
Option to:
Stand/sit (please bring your own chair if sitting).
Take part on the beach or in the sea.
7-8pm Cuppa at La Cuna
If you’d like to stay around for a cuppa after the celebration, and view the exhibition, La Cuna’s cosy space will be open until 8pm.

Feel free to contact Louisa 07593 585 797 with any questions about any part of the event.
Background to water ceremonial offerings:
There is a worldwide movement of people sharing practices which bring us into greater connection with our local waters. Lincolnshire has a long and ancient history of depositional votive practices – i.e. placing items into the water as ceremonial offerings.
This event is a collaboration between Louisa Chase (artist), Hannah Green (dance movement facilitator - Dance Free CIC), Stories from the Water-Body group (including Lynda Huckvale, Emma Warrener, Dr Eve Darwood, Gemma Chaikin) and Milly Nixon Photography.
Supported using public funding by Arts Council England, National Lottery Heritage Fund and North East Lincolnshire Council. Thanks to National Lottery players.
