Offered in collaboration with the Tomah VA Medical Center, this weekend retreat is designed to be a restorative, relationship-centered experience for military veterans and their partners. We’ll create a welcoming space for couples to pause, reconnect and strengthen their bond through guided activities and shared experiences. Couples will focus on building healthy coping skills, enhancing communication and deepening trust. Through intentional time together, they’ll explore ways to navigate challenges, foster resilience and renew their shared vision for the future, and will leave with practical tools to support lasting relationship health and a renewed sense of partnership. Many also experience reduced stress and anxiety.
Note: The retreat is open to veterans enrolled at the Tomah VA who attend with a spouse or partner. Past participants have attended this retreat as a pre-marriage opportunity. Participation requires completion of an intake process. Upon registration, your information will be shared with the Tomah VA to complete this step. ABOUT THE PRESENTERS:
Garin Forsberg is a board-certified chaplain who has served at the Tomah VA Medical Center since February 2024. He provides spiritual and pastoral support to veterans receiving care for mental and behavioral health, family life and relationships, and substance abuse. He also is an Army veteran, husband and father of two girls.
Holly Myers is a health and wellness coach with the Tomah VA Medical Center. She is passionate about working with veterans to live their best life by empowering them with the tools and resources to meet their specific health goals. What brings Holly a sense of joy and happiness outside of work is spending time with her husband, 9-year-old son and golden retriever, and traveling, especially to places with sunshine and beaches.
