Walsall Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Training (Half Day) - 07/10/24

In partnership with Walsall Council, Birmingham Mind are delivering a series of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention training courses for people living or working in Walsall.

This is a half-day course which is free to access and being delivered in person. The course will;

• Help you understand more about mental health and suicide in Walsall
• Increase your skills and confidence in having conversations about mental health and suicide
• Encourage you to engage with other services and networks in your community or workplace

We limit the max course attendees but will be delivering a range of courses over the year, both online and in person, so please contact us if you would like information on future dates.

The course will be delivered by a training professional from Birmingham Mind, who deliver a range of mental health training to over 2,000 people every year in the West Midlands.

Session date and time;

The course will be delivered on Monday 7th October12:30pm-4pm (with a break included). Food will not be provided.

Entry requirements:

You must be over 18 and living or working in Walsall. This could include staff and leaders in local businesses, statutory, voluntary and community sector organisations.

Content:

This 3.5 hour course will give you;

• Increased awareness of Mental Health.
• Increased awareness of personal Wellbeing.
• Increased awareness of key suicide prevention strategies & messaging.

You’ll receive an email confirmation with a welcome email also sent before the event with more information on the course.

The course is funded in partnership with Walsall Council, with no charge for you to attend.

This course will be delivered at: Bentley Community Centre, Wilkes Avenue, Walsall, England WS2 0JN

There will be future sessions delivered online should this be more a preferred option.

Walsall Charging - Statement

This is a free to attend course, however if you fail to attend without giving 48 hours’ notice then we will charge you for the cost of the place. Whilst we recognise that there are competing pressures on people’s time, this policy is to enable us to reach as many people as possible with the available funding and ensure that each course has the required number of people to be valuable for all attendees.

Walsall Council and Birmingham Mind will reinvest any charges into delivering the aims and ambitions of this course.

Failure to notify Birmingham Mind 48 hours in advance with a reason for being unable to attend will result in a £40 charge for non-attendance.
