Chinese Film Festival Hamburg (CFFH) presents Walking Past the Future (路过未来, Dir. LI Ruijun, 2017).

Yang Yaoting grew up in Shenzhen but has roots in rural Gansu — a place she barely knows. When her parents, who worked in the city for over twenty years, decide to return to their village, she finds their life there is nothing like she imagined. She sets out to bring them back — but the gap between dream and reality, between city and countryside, keeps shifting beneath her feet.

Selected at the 70th Cannes Film Festival (Un Certain Regard). Winner of Best Screenplay, Best New Actor, and Best New Actress at the 22nd Shanghai International Film Festival. Top 10 New Films at the 27th China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival.

耀婷是在深圳出生长大的甘肃人，除了办身份证外从未回过甘肃。打工二十多年的父母决定返乡，她去到村里，发现父母的生活并不如意。她想尽办法把父母接回深圳——然而现实与梦想之间的距离，城市与故乡之间的裂缝，始终在脚下移动。

影片入围第70届戛纳国际电影节「一种关注」单元，荣获第22届上海国际电影节华语电影传媒大奖最佳编剧、最佳新人男演员、最佳新人女演员三项大奖，并获第27届金鸡百花电影节十佳新片奖。
