Start at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, with a 2004 building, and a tradition of assisting education, health and welfare for crowded communities of Te Aro and Mt Victoria during the 20th century.
Next is the Greek Orthodox Church, built 1970, founded by migrants from Greece in the 1940s. Wesley Methodist Church, Taranaki Street, was built in 1880, originating with Wesley missionaries who in June 1839 held the first Christian service in Wellington.
