We are pleased to announce that the Skanda Sashti festival will be celebrated at the Kurinchi Kumaran Temple from Saturday, 2nd November to Friday, 8th November 2024.
This sacred festival commemorates the victory of Lord Murugan over the demon Soorapadman, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. During this time, we will also celebrate Sooran Poar (சூரன்போர்)—the epic battle between Lord Murugan and Soorapadman, where Lord Murugan used His powerful Vel (spear) to vanquish the forces of darkness. The festival will culminate with the Thirukalyanam, the divine wedding ceremony of Lord Murugan and Goddess Devasena.
