About this Event
The private residence of Robert-Gascoyne Cecil, the Marquess of Salisbury. The estate has been the ancestral home of the Cecil family for over 400 yrs since the Jacobean house was completed. Built on the site of the Old Royal Palace of Hatfield, which dates to 1497. The palace, the remains of which are within the grounds of the main house, are where Queen Elizabeth1st spent much of her youth.
