About this Event
here are three things aspiring and established writers need and crave: time, space and the permission to write.
Class will meet on Thursdays, from 2-4:30 pm, May 30-June 20.
Meets in Brooks Place program room.
During this four session workshop we give ourselves the permission to write and the gift of time to do it. In the nurturing space of the workshop, we begin or continue to write the stories we live every day. Using our histories, our memories, and our senses as launching pads, we will begin to transform the ordinariness of our lives into extraordinary fiction and non-fiction. This workshop is for those who want to write but don’t yet believe they have anything to say, as well as for those who know what they want to say but need the time and space and permission to do it. Through tailored writing prompts, you will be given the guidance to write the stories you are destined to write. You will test strategies that will help sustain your writing practice over time.
You will also be given the 21-day challenge to keep you writing.
Note: Class size is limited. There is a registration fee of $25, and registration is for all sessions. The Westport Library wants to ensure that all interested students are able to participate in Verso University courses. If the registration fee is a barrier to entry for you, please contact [email protected].
