Starting with Vanishing Point (1971) directed by Armenian-American filmmaker Richard C. Sarafian. Part car chase, part countercultural meditation, where the highway becomes a space of liberation, resistance and existential reckoning.
Alongside that, we’ll be showing a remarkable companion short: C'était un rendez-vous by Claude Lelouch from 1976. Shot in a single unbroken take at dawn. The film has become famous for its illicit high-speed drive through the streets of Paris. With the camera mounted on the bonnet, it’s a breathless nine minutes.
