About this Event
We have an awesome cast for this month's VGDS! With Toby Murray and Sienna Blumstengel of Flock Around, Pablo Gerardo from Desktop Explorer and Albert Shih, the creative director on Superliminal, it will be an educational and entertaining evening!

Toby Murray is an IGF Award winning game developer based in Vancouver, BC. His journey in game development started as a student at the University of Victoria, where he founded Xylem Studios and shipped . RAM went on to win the 2024 IGF Audience Award and earned an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam. After RAM, he co-founded Friend Shaped Games alongside Sienna Blumstengel and Wyatt Chapman, where they shipped in 6 months to Overwhelmingly Positive reviews, after a successful social media marketing campaign.
Sienna Blumstengel is a videogame artist based in Victoria, BC. She cut her teeth in 2D pixel art on Peglin, which started as a 2019 game jam and grew into a full release with almost a million copies sold across all platforms. She then co-founded Friend Shaped Games with Wyatt Chapman and Toby Murray, where she does whatever art the day calls for — 2D, 3D, or otherwise.
Pablo Gerardo is a Mexican designer and 3D generalist. He started his career as a graphic designer in the dry desert of Mexicali, Mexico and then moved to rainy Vancouver to study and work in animation. He has worked as a modeling and surfacing artist and look-development artist for more than a dozen shows for Disney and Netflix. He is also a game developer, wearing as many hats as he can to help create with his team at Recurring Dream.
Albert Shih is the creative director of , and currently co-runs the game studio Pillow Castle with his partner Anya Yu. They have two cats and live in the small quaint town of Seattle.
Event Info: Volunteers will check you in at the building entrance. Pizza will be provided at the event, but please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions when buying your ticket.
NOTE: The event will be at Vancouver Film School's campus at 151 W Cordova Street (Theatre 106)
