TRIUMF Public Tours
About this Event
These free tours provided by TRIUMF's Graduate and Postdoc Society student volunteers are limited to 15 participants at a time. The schedule is dependent on their availability to provide time away from academic work or research.
For larger public groups, email a request to [email protected] so that feasibility may be determined. For school-aged groups, visit https://triumf.ca/visit-us/public-tours/#k-12, or email [email protected].
The 45-minute walking tour explores the two largest research halls within the 13-acre site. Participants are required to walk, climb stairs, and stand for the duration of the tour. While a more accessible route is available for those that require it, much of the lab's scale is best viewed from above. Participants who have sensitivity to loud noise should take special precautions.
Notify the tour guide of any individual needs upon arrival.
Tour requirements:
- You are required to secure a ticket for each participant in your group.
- All guests are required to observe site safety information prior to arrival on site.
- Close-toed shoes and pants or shorts are mandatory.
- Arrive early for your ticketed time. Tour guides cannot hold up the whole group and will depart on time.
TRIUMF reserves the right to refuse service to any person or group not acting in accordance with the lab's , or with safety-related and/or regulatory compliance protocols. Grounds for refusal of service include, but are not limited to: presenting a safety risk, as determined by a TRIUMF staff or tour guide; impeding a tour guide's ability to safely complete a tour; creating excessive noise or other disturbances in the lobby or anywhere along the tour route; or failing to follow instructions from tour guides at any time.
Thank you for helping us run a safe and successful tours program by following our Code of Conduct and all instructions from TRIUMF staff.
