Cypress Pillar's Usui Reiki is a truly lovely form of energy healing that was first discovered in Japan in the late 1800's/early 1900's. The beautiful thing about this healing system is that *anyone* can do it, and Level 1 is perfect for folks to use to practice on themselves, their friends and family, and even plants and animals too. This level is rooted first in healing our selves, and those who we love (level 2 and beyond looks to diving deeper into healing others, although you can absolutely use what you learn in Level 1 to benefit those close to you whom you love ā¤ļø)
Misha will be leading a delicious dive in, two days full of goodness for those who would like to learn, or even re-learn, this gentle healing art. Your weekend will include:
* The what's and why's of Reiki - what is it, how does it work, and what is the science behind it (yes Misha will break down the actual scientific processes behind the magic to help you fully understand what is happening as you work with the energy)
* The history of Reiki with special imagery and materials brought back from Mt. Kurama during Misha's visits, the sacred mountain upon which Reiki was first received by Dr. Usui
* Multiple attunements spread out over the course of the weekend to ease you into the feel of the art (in keeping with the old Japanese ways)
* Meditations and exercises to help you expand your ability to feel, receive, and release energy
* Introduction to self healing techniques, and healing for friends and family including hand positions and "quick fixes"
* A interdisciplinary, interpretive approach to learning using all the senses
* Hands on practice time - both on yourself and others in the class
* Tips on unique ways to use Reiki in your life, especially with self care and self healing
* And lots more!

If you have already had Reiki training, you are more than welcome to come. ļ»æMisha encourages students to take with a variety of different Masters if they can, as you will learn so much each time. Additionally, if you have previously taken Reiki Level 1 (or even a short course that was a Master program that did all the levels over a few days), you will gain a great day from attending Misha's class. Multiple Reiki Masters have attended her course and call her "the real deal" and "a living, breathing embodiment of the Reiki energy" ļ»æwhen she teaches. So if you took a quick Reiki course you will love this much deeper dive.
Classes are intentionally kept small to provide you with lots of hands on experience and one on one instruction.

And yes, our Reiki 1 is a little bit different than the usual way these courses are often scheduled in the US; ours is taught in a more traditional way using a multi-day immersion into this beautiful energy healing system. Why 2 days when most trainings are either a few hours or 1 full day? After lots of planning, Misha felt that she'd really like to give this healing system, and the students who seek to learn it, the time it is due. It is a *lot* to try to understand, process, learn, get comfy with, and apply in a short period of time. While we honor each Master's own choice in how they present this material, Misha would like to offer an experience that is a bit different, a bit deeper, and infused with spaciousness to help you truly understand and fall in love with this practice. Misha's used her 25+ years of background in program design to develop a study format that is intended to give the student every opportunity to both learn and practice during their training, and to do so at a pace that allows you to gain knowledge in a supportive hands on environment.

Participants must attend *both* days in order to complete this course. All participants will receive multiple attunements, a certificate of completion, full color beautiful Cypress Pillar Usui Reiki Level 1 manual written by Misha, additional handouts, class recordings, and self study guide to help support their learning and practice outside of the class...plus a little bit of extra MishaMagic that will make the day extra special! Syllabus, preparation information and instructions on what to bring provided upon purchase of course ticket. The course is non-refundable as the classes are recorded and can be re-watched in case of missing the event.

About Misha: Misha Nell is a certified Reiki Master in multiple Reiki styles who has been practicing Reiki since she first was attended to Level 1 in a tiny dorm room at New College, way back in 1996. Yes, Reiki can happen anywhere! Thirty years later, she's studied with multiple teachers, researched lost traditions of the original Japanese teachings, and has made multiple pilgrimages to Japan to visit the sacred Mt Kurama, birthplace of Reiki, to both learn and solidify her commitment and intentions as well as to follow her heart (the most recent one in March 2025). Misha believes that Reiki is a gift that any person can learn, practice, and enjoy and she is excited to bring this training, taught through the lens of her own personal magic, to Sarasota.
