Unseen STL History: The Veiled Prophet

A discussion of Devin Thomas O'Shea's book The Veiled Prophet: Secret Societies, White Supremacy, and the Struggle for St. Louis
About this Event

Who gets to claim a city, define its traditions, and decide whose interests it serves?

This month’s Unseen STL History Talk explores those questions through the history of the Veiled Prophet. Author Devin Thomas O’Shea will join me to discuss his book, The Veiled Prophet: Secret Societies, White Supremacy, and the Struggle for St. Louis, and the conflicts over race, class, and power that run through its pages.

Join us at Leviathan Bookstore, 3211 South Grand, on Thursday, November 19, at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Advance tickets are $5.
