Join Unplugged Canada on Saturday, October 3rd in downtown Ottawa for a family-friendly Walk for Childhood.
We’re bringing families, supporters, and community leaders together to celebrate childhood—and to send a clear message to Canada’s policymakers: families are ready for a new norm around smartphones and social media, and we support a social media age minimum of 16.
What to Expect
We’ll gather at the Canadian Tribute to Human Rights before walking together through downtown Ottawa to Parliament Hill, where we’ll pause for brief remarks and a collective show of support for protecting childhood and creating healthier digital norms for kids.
This is a positive, peaceful, family-focused event. Bring your kids, bring your friends, and come walk with a community that believes children deserve more time to play, connect, grow, and experience childhood before smartphones and social media.
Why We're Walking
Changing the norm takes collective action.
When families delay smartphones and social media together, no child has to feel like they're the only one waiting. And when communities speak together, we can show policymakers that Canadian families want meaningful support in creating healthier digital environments for children.

The event is free, but registration is encouraged to help us plan for attendance and communicate any event-day updates.
Strollers are welcome. More details about timing and the exact route will be shared with registered participants closer to the event.
