Unity has always been a place where people from many different spiritual paths come together. Some who attend grew up in traditional Christian churches and found Unity while looking for a deeper, more practical way to live their faith. Others identified as spiritual but not religious. Some came from metaphysical or New Thought traditions. Many arrived after a period of questioning, searching, or awakening.

What unites us is not a single background, but a shared commitment to growth.

Unity of Fort Lauderdale is a community for people who want to explore spirituality in a practical way while becoming more aware, responsible, and compassionate human beings.

Our spiritual foundation comes from the teachings of Unity, a positive and practical approach to Christianity founded by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore. Unity honors the life and teachings of Jesus while recognizing that spiritual truth transcends any one tradition.

At the heart of Unity are five spiritual principles that guide our understanding of life:

ONE
There is ONE Presence and ONE Power, God the Good.
We understand God not as a distant figure, but as the living presence and intelligence that expresses through all creation.

DIVINE
You are inherently divine. An individualized expression of God.
No one is broken or beyond redemption. Each of us has the capacity to grow, heal, and express greater love.

MIND
Consciousness shapes experience. Thoughts held in mind, produce after their kind.
When we bring greater awareness to our thinking and emotional patterns, we begin to live more consciously.

PRAYER
Prayer and meditation deepen awareness of your connection to the infinite One.
Through spiritual practice we learn to quiet the mind, open the heart, and listen more deeply.

ACTION
Truth must be lived.
It is not enough to understand spiritual teachings. We must embody the Truth we know.
