Understanding the Outdoor Business Landscape

Join Insights North East for an interactive workshop presenting new research on the growth of outdoor businesses. The workshop will feature a range of speakers including Leanne Townsend (James Hutton Institute, Aberdeen) and Gary Bosworth (Northumbria University) eager to promote this sector as a potential driver of sustainable rural tourism.

Presentations from the other speakers will look at experiences from Northern England, Scotland and Denmark before we will move into open discussions. The workshop will discuss the opportunities and challenges faced by outdoor business operators and encourage attendees to collaborative and create new ideas and innovative approaches to increasing the exposure of businesses rooted in rural landscapes.
