Celebration of Radical Women of Romanticism
To commemorate the 200th anniversary of Anna Laetitia Barbauld’s death, join us for an enlightening evening celebrating radical women of British and Irish Romanticism. This event will illuminate the groundbreaking work of Anna Barbauld and Mary Wollstonecraft and introduce female literary figures overlooked by history. Emerging from a revolutionary age, their pioneering contributions to proto-feminist and human-rights discourses have profoundly shaped international conversations about female agency and human rights, influencing our society to this day. Open to everyone, it’s an exciting opportunity to celebrate their enduring legacy. Don't miss this chance to be inspired by the radical spirit of Romanticism!
Organised by Charlotte Davison, Rachael McCreanor, Katie Siddall, and Jennifer Tattersall, Newcastle University
