We invite Business Consultants, Owners, and Community Leaders in the Petersburg Metro Area to join us for our Referral Session on Friday, October 4th at 11:15 AM within the Petersburg Family YMCA.Our Member Spotlight Presenter will be Marco Callender of the YMCA of Greater Richmond.
Marco serves as Executive Director for the Petersburg Family YMCA.
He was born and raised on the island of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. In 1994, he left his home to attend Virginia State University where he majored in Music Education.
Upon completion of his degree, Marco set out to fuel his passion for youth development by becoming a teacher. Throughout his teaching experience Marco has taught several grade levels between Chesterfield, Prince George County, and Petersburg City Schools.
In 2006, he began working full time for the YMCA. During his tenure at the YMCA, Marco has worked for 8 different locations creating and enhancing several programs and driving membership growth.
As Executive Director, Marco leads a dynamic and energetic team consisting of over 50 staff and volunteers.
He is seeking introductions to:
• Business Owners & Community Leaders who have an interest in nonprofit board leadership
• Health Conscious Individuals who want to enhance their wellbeing
• Volunteers who understand the importance of youth development
• Donors who have a passion for education, youth leadership and community impact.
