Who is this suitable for: Over 16's- Beginners; you must be able to use a sewing machine or have attended the 'Introduction to sewing'.
What you'll learn & make: Move over DRY January, here we are embracing TRY January...try a taster of something NEW in one of our mini masterclasses!
10.30-11.30am Intro to stretch: Learn all about ‘What is jersey fabric’, how to stitch jersey/stretch fabrics to create seams on a regular sewing machine, understand stretch percentages...put it into practice & make an snood or twisted knot headbands This is a perfect taster workshop to prepare you to progress onto dressmaking projects with stretch fabric like hoodies, sweaters, cardigans or leggings.
12-1pm Machine Applique: Learn how to perfect the decorative technique of 'applique' learn tips & tricks of using ‘bondaweb’ & experiment with stitch settings to produce a heart design- a great transferable skill.
Free motion Stitch: Increase your confidence & extend your knowledge of the creative potential of the sewing machine...using stitch functions in a totally different way. This taster workshop will allow you to indulge in playing with fabrics to create unique stitched samples.This is sewing for rebels ;-)
(you may not leave with a finished product but will have the skills & knowledge to do so at home)
