This venerable charity was incorporated in 1514 by Henry VIII’s Royal Charter to safeguard shipping and seafarers and now encompasses a wide range of responsibilities in addition to owning and operating lighthouses.A talk by Captain Michael Vlasto OBE, a former Operations Director of the RNLI with 38 years service to maritime search and rescue.
