Triathlon Ireland Sligo Summer Camp

Triathlon Ireland are delighted to bring their young people’s Summer Camp to Sligo this year.

The Triathlon Ireland Youth and Junior camp is designed around a set of principles that align with Triathlon Ireland’s core values on talent development and coaching practice. Here we focus on developing more than just swim, bike and run. We aim to create a psychologically safe environment that fosters personal growth. We want to create independent learners and problem solvers, athletes capable of consistently making the right decisions at the right time no matter the level of expectation.

Throughout our time together we aim to engage, enable, empower and educate our young people to:

• Develop a passion for physical activity and triathlon
• Develop triathlon specific skills
• Develop racing craft
• Develop the skills to make informed choices to become more proficient decision makers

Activities will include running skills, bike drills, swimming, and a mini triathlon to finish the fun-filled 3 days. This camp is open to young people of all abilities.

Dates: 17th to 19th July 2024

Times: 9:45am to 1pm

Ages: 8 to 14 year olds

Cost: €35 for Triathlon Ireland members (€50 (35+TI membership) for non- TI members)

Locations: Swim at Sligo Regional Sports Centre (10am to 11am) and cyle and run at Cleveragh Park (Sligo)- there will be no swim on Thursday 18th July

Equipment Needed: Bike, Helmet, Running Attire, Swimming Togs/ Trisuit, Goggles, Swim Hat, Tow Float, Suncream, Hand Sanitiser, Rain Coat, Small Snack, Water.

**Please note that participants must be able to swim a minimum of 50m to participate***
