Tretower Court and Castle

Tretower Castle, located in Powys, Wales, originated as an early 12th-century Norman motte-and-bailey fortress built by the Picard family. It was rebuilt in stone with a shell keep around 1150 and extensively remodelled in the 13th century with a distinctive, 4-story circular tower. It served as a garrison during the 15th-century Glyndŵr rebellion before becoming ruinous, eventually being secured for the nation in 1947.
