Stone Age Jewellery Workshop
About this Event
Stone Age Jewellery Workshop
Dive into history and craft with University of Manchester archaeologists Laura Thompson and Max Jacobs, to explore the Middle Stone Age Period in Britain through ancient jewellery making.
Learn how early plant cord is made with natural raffia and use flint drills and prehistoric tools to carve shale stones into decorative beads, as you create your own Mesolithic-style pendant.
This is a hands-on, experimental archaeology and craft session where you will learn how prehistoric people made their own accessories. It is perfect for anyone curious about archaeology or who loves getting crafty. No experience is needed and all materials and tuition will be provided.
Suitable for ages 12+, though under 16s should be accompanied by an adult.
Tickets are £10, to be paid on arrival at the workshop.
Booking is essential as places are limited and payment will be taken at the start of the workshop.
