Tree care day at Purdown Open Space
About this Event
What we'll be doing
We'll carry out some tree maintenance activities through the day. Our Woodland Officer, Pete, will take us through some information and tips about tree care. We'll then spend the day:
- weeding around the base of the trees to support their growth
- pruning branches to keep the trees healthy
- mulching - laying a protective covering around the base of the trees to help them stay hydrated
You don't need any previous experience or skills. We'll take you through everything when you arrive and we'll be on hand to support you throughout the day. Health and safety will be covered at the start of the session.
What to bring
We'll provide all the tools and equipment you'll need. Please bring:
- a packed lunch
- plenty of water
- sturdy footwear and clothes you don't mind getting muddy

We'll be meeting at Purdown Open Space in Bristol (BS7 9UA).

Getting there
Purdown Open Space is a 10-15 minute walk from Ashley Down rail station. There is no car park at the Open Space but there is street parking on nearby roads.
