About the presenter

Professor Ngaire Woods is the founding Dean of the Blavatnik School of Government and Professor of Global Economic Governance at Oxford University. She is a leading scholar of global economic governance, international institutions, globalisation, and development.

She has held senior advisory and governance roles across public policy, education, international development, and business, including with the World Economic Forum and G20-related panels.

Ngaire was educated at the University of Auckland and Balliol College, Oxford, where she studied as a New Zealand Rhodes Scholar. She is also a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, an International Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Academy of Arts.

By bringing together diverse perspectives, this series seeks to inspire new ways of thinking about New Zealand’s economic future and to support informed, forward‑looking policymaking.
