Amorangi: Māori in Governance Summit returns to Te Whanganui-a-Tara this 29 July 2026 for a powerful day of whakaaro, wero, and kōrero from some of Aotearoa’s leading Māori voices in governance.
Hosted by Tapuwae Roa, Amorangi brings together governors, trustees, directors, executives, emerging leaders, and changemakers from across the motu for a kaupapa Māori professional development experience grounded in tikanga, leadership, and future-focused governance.
Our first release of kaikōrero includes:
🗻 Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke
🗻 Chief Judge Caren Fox
🗻 Rawinia Higgins
🗻 Erin Roxburgh
This year’s hui explores the themes of Mana Motuhake, Mātātoa, Taurite, Kunenga, and Kotahitanga, reflecting conversations around sovereignty, resilience, balance, transformation, and collectivity through the lens of tikanga-led Māori governance.
Expect high impact kōrero, interactive panel discussions, and opportunities to connect with governance leaders working across iwi, Māori organisations, business, public sector, education, and community spaces.
Whether you are already serving in governance roles or aspiring toward governance leadership, Amorangi is designed to challenge, inspire, and strengthen Māori governance capability for the future.
