Hawaii News Now General Manager
Katie has served as General Manager of Hawaii News Now since January of 2020. She is an experienced broadcaster with a demonstrated history of success in the media multi screen industry.
Leading Hawaii’s largest multimedia organization, Katie and her colleagues are committed to serving and connecting our islands through the careful creation of over 50 hours of local news per week shared on all the screens people in Hawaii use most. During the pandemic, HNN launched an additional 5 hours per week in response to the community’s growing demand for local news in unprecedented times.
In addition to growing news programming, Katie has also focused on telling Hawaii’s local business stories with brand elevating lifestyle programs. Katie has launched multiple dynamic lifestyle programs in her career including HI Now, HI Now Japan, Talk Story and the Rhode Show. Telling local stories is her passion.
Her focus is nurturing an environment of high performance, creativity and well being for her colleagues. In response to the growing pressures of our industry, Katie’s team introduced a station employee wellness program that continues to grow.
Katie is a certified life coach and serves on multiple boards in Hawaii including Hawaii Symphony Orchestra, Honolulu Theatre for Youth, Make a Wish Hawaii, and Red Cross Hawaii.
