The Southern Conservation Trust is thrilled to host its Trails for Troops program once again!On November 1st, 2024, we invite community members, veterans, and first responders to join us for an invigorating hike or ruck of either 5 or 10 miles at the historic Brown's Mill Battlefield Civil War Site at 155 Millard Farmer Road, Newnan, GA.
Trails for Troops is a veteran-designed program created to provide veterans and first responders with the benefits of outdoor activity in a supportive, group-based setting. Research shows that group recreational experiences in healthy, natural environments can have a profound positive impact, particularly for veterans living with PTSD and other disabilities.
The 5 or 10-mile hike is just one of the many recreational activities offered by Trails for Troops. Other activities include trail runs, rucksack marches, mountain biking, fishing, and boot camp-style workouts. The November 1st event is open to all and we invite everyone to hike or ruck in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
This event is free, so be sure to register today! All participants will receive a small gift after the hike.
