  • If successful, the free hit rule will be in play at the county finals
  • Teachers will have to umpire (please download the Countdown Cricket app on your phone or tablet to keep score)
  • If you enter two teams EACH TEAM MUST HAVE A TEACHER OR PARENT VOLUNTEER WITH THEM AT ALL TIMES TO SCORE

Rules of how to get out

  • Getting out forms different methods, RUN OUT, BOWLED, CAUGHT, STUMPED.
  • Stumped: This means a batter can be out if a fielder touches the stumps with the ball OR throws the ball at the stumps and it hits BEFORE the batter is in the crease.
  • Caught :(self-explanatory) a ball is caught before it hits the ground
  • Ran out: if batsman end up at the same end and then the stumps are hit with the ball at the other end (where there are no batters).
  • Bowled: Bowler bowls the balls that hits the stumps of the batter

Getting a Wicket (OUT)

  • Previously in Kwik Cricket it has been -5 to the batting team. However, this has now changed and it is +5 to the fielding team. No points should be taken off the batting team.
  • I f a player gets out, they should swap ends with their batting partner.

Bowling Rules Applied Locally (NO TEE RULE)

  • All pupils must bowl overarm.
  • 5 bowls per player, rotate after a player has had 5 bowls.
  • 1 0 bowls per batting pair.
  • If after 2 OVERARM BOWLS that are deemed unhittable (wide or no ball) the bowler may complete an underarm bowl
  • If a bowler then cannot provide a good bowl, they should take 1-2 steps forward of the crease closer to the batter and bowl

Wides and No balls

  • Please make sure you are using your discretion with this. We want to allow some leniency to ensure it is fair and enjoyable for all, and remember this is for the pupils. It is also important to be truthful.
  • Wides and no balls are scored at +2 each bowl to the batting team.

For more information please contact Tora or Adam. Schedule of play and Pitch Allocation will be released closer to the event date with rule updates (if req)
