Why This Event Matters
Parkdale Food Centre’s Vital Work
• Provides low-barrier access to nourishing, culturally appropriate, safe food — making sure people are met with dignity.
• Operates a Community Advocacy Program that helps neighbours navigate systems, supports collective action, and works toward systemic change in food security and poverty.
• Runs youth programs like Growing Futures, offering young people hands-on experience in growing food, learning about sustainable food, and becoming involved in community food justice.
• Hosts community building/team building workshops that includes cooking skills & advocacy discussions about food security.
• Stands for food sovereignty and the belief that healthy, clean, nutritious food is a basic human right. They challenge inequality and move toward justice and wellbeing for all.
Why Breathwork with Conches Matters
• Robin and Erica from Conches will open a supportive space for participants to receive deep care and access an effective practice of self healing and cathartic release through guided Conscious Connected Breathwork.
• Especially valuable for caregivers, community members experiencing stress, tension, or overwhelm — to reconnect with yourself so you can keep showing up for others.
• In times of economic, social, global transformation and crisis, our collective stress and depleted resources call for embodied practices that offer release, clarity, and grounding.
*the style of conscious connected breathwork that Robin and Erica guide is very gentle and accessible to almost anyone at any stage of life. Please reach out with any questions or concerns regarding this practice.
⸻
